Challenge

Installing a large internet system in a small and remote town, more than 600km from the nearest large town with fibre optic communications.

The production company required a good, fast and reliable connection for the daily transfer of rushes back to the London edit suite.

Outcome

The small town, with a population of only 1,500, was self-contained and had limited satellite internet connection. ABP established a close working relationship with one of the national telephone companies and after numerous meetings came up with a way to upload 30Gb of material via radio transmission, meaning that within 24 hours of shooting, the rushes were being logged in London.
